Following an exhaustive testing program, tiled roof systems have been given the all-clear for use in new construction in high-risk bushfire zones. All new roofs constructed using Australian-made concrete or terracotta tiles are fully compliant with the residential building standard AS 3959-2009. (See Fire Testing Report.pdf for more details)
The RTAA has issued a technical guide for builders and tilers working in bushfire-prone areas (See Building with tile roofs in bushfire prone areas.pdf for more details)
